The Formulation

The molecule is proven.
The formulation is ours.

GHK-Cu has 50+ years of independent research behind it. Our job was to deliver it properly — high-strength, liposomal-encapsulated, in a clean base that keeps the copper active. Here's how we build it. The full research library lives here.

The Molecule

Your body already makes it.
It just stops making enough.

GHK-Cu (glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine copper) is a naturally occurring copper peptide found in your blood, saliva, and skin. It's a copper peptide naturally present in skin, studied for its role in the skin's appearance.

The problem is simple: your body produces less of it every year.

That 60% decline tracks directly with what most people call "aging skin" — slower healing, thinner dermis, less elasticity, more fine lines. GHK-Cu doesn't decline because you're aging. The research suggests you're showing signs of aging partly because GHK-Cu is declining.

KOPPĀ exists to put it back.

GHK-Cu + Cu²⁺ · naturally blue
The color is the proof

The blue isn't dye.
It's the copper.

GHK-Cu turns blue when the peptide is bound to active copper. We liposomal-encapsulate every active so it stays stable and bioavailable in the bottle — that natural blue is the signal the copper is still intact and working.

Liposomal-encapsulated Stays stable Stays active
How it's built

Engineered to keep the actives active.

Most serums hide a small dose of peptide behind silicone and filler. Ours is built the opposite way — a clean vehicle that carries a high active load in cleanly, plus a barrier system that keeps skin comfortable.

01 · Delivery

Liposomal encapsulation

  • Every active wrapped to stay stable and bioavailable
  • Absorbs into the skin's surface
  • Trehalose helps keep the copper-peptide chains sound
02 · Base

Clean hydro-gel vehicle

  • Trehalose, Betaine & Glycerin hydration matrix
  • No silicones, no heavy polymers
  • No artificial optical micas or shimmer
03 · Defence

Barrier-support system

  • Ceramide NP & Ceramide EOP reinforce the lipid barrier
  • Panthenol & Allantoin calm and soothe
  • A safety net for a high 2% active load
04 · Peptides

Multi-peptide scaffold

  • 2% GHK-Cu + Carnosine — copper peptide & anti-glycation
  • SNAP-8 & Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 — for expression lines
  • Palmitoyl peptides + SYN-AKE — firmness & smoothing
Koppā vs. the category

Where most peptide serums stop, ours starts.

A typical "peptide serum" leans on botanical filler and a low dose of copper peptide. Here are the same formula decisions, side by side.

Formulated at 2% GHK-Cu — 20,000 ppm. Many copper-peptide serums market 1% GHK-Cu as their high, functional tier. Koppā is formulated at 2% — double that. Published dose-response research shows visible effects across a roughly 0.03–3% range, placing 2% in the upper half of the studied window. And we disclose the number, verified on our supplier’s certificate of analysis — most brands never state theirs at all.

Comparison reflects typical formulations in the prestige peptide-serum category. Ingredient positions are based on published INCI lists.

The evidence

Built on 50+ years of independent research.

Every formula decision traces back to published, independent studies on GHK-Cu — collagen, firmness, repair, and barrier science. We keep the full library on one page so you can read the sources yourself.

From Research to Routine

The science tells us what it does.
We focused on how to deliver it.

GHK-Cu is active at remarkably low concentrations — studies show effects at doses as small as 0.01 nanomolar. The challenge isn't the molecule. It's getting it to your skin in a stable, effective format you'll actually use every day. That's what KOPPĀ is: the delivery system for a molecule that already has 50 years of evidence behind it.

GHK-Cu Questions

Your questions, answered by the research.

No, and that is the point. Every study on this page was funded and run independently, across five decades and multiple institutions. We built our products around this molecule because the existing research already made the case — we did not need to manufacture one.
Most peptide serums carry only a trace of copper peptide, often under 0.1%, sitting low on the ingredient list behind fragrance and filler. Ours is 2% GHK-Cu (20,000 ppm) — liposomal-encapsulated so the copper stays stable and active in the bottle. No fragrance, no dyes, no filler actives.
Each product does one job. The Balm Stick concentrates GHK-Cu on the zones that show age first: eyes, lip lines, forehead. The 2% Serum carries it across the full face. The Capsule Cream seals it in overnight, when repair is most active. Run together as the Trio, the routine takes three minutes, morning and night.
Because 2% is the point where the research stops adding benefit. It sits at the upper threshold shown effective in published studies: enough to signal repair broadly, without pushing into the irritation that higher, unstudied concentrations invite. We dose to the evidence, not to a bigger number on the label.
The Serum is the core of the routine and a complete step on its own. The Balm Stick and Capsule Cream amplify it, targeting first and sealing last, which is why skin tends to change fastest on the full three-step protocol. Most people start with the Trio for that reason.
Based on the published research, barrier and texture improvements tend to appear within 2–4 weeks. Firmer, smoother skin and softened lines usually show from 8–12 weeks of consistent use. The clinical trials referenced here ran 12-week protocols.

The research is published.
The rest is your call.
