The koppā edit · Copper peptides, explained
What’s the go with copper peptides?
You’ve seen the blue serums. You’ve heard about GHK-Cu. Here’s what it means for your skincare routine, without making a meal of it.

The short version.
GHK-Cu is a small peptide bound to copper. In skincare, you’ll see it listed as Copper Tripeptide-1. It’s an ingredient used in formulas designed to support smoother, firmer-looking skin. The complete formula matters, too.
A bit of science.
Less of the jargon.
GHK stands for three amino acids: glycine, histidine and lysine. Add copper, whose chemical symbol is Cu, and you have GHK-Cu.
Researchers have studied it for effects on skin-related processes, including collagen production in laboratory cells. That helps explain the interest in copper peptides, but what happens in a lab is not a promise about what any particular bottle will do for your face.
A published review highlights gaps in clinical evidence and challenges with getting peptides through the skin. Results depend on the formulation and your skin, so an overnight transformation is not a useful expectation. Read the research review.

A copper peptide serum is more than its headline ingredient. These are the details worth looking for:
- The ingredient, clearly named.Look for Copper Tripeptide-1 when you’re looking for GHK-Cu.
- A concentration you can understand.Check what the stated percentage refers to. A higher number alone does not prove a better result.
- The rest of the formula.Hydrating ingredients, texture and the way a product fits your routine all matter. Choose something you’ll actually use consistently.

Can’t be bothered with ten steps?
You can add a copper peptide serum to a simple routine. Here’s where Koppā’s serum fits:
- Cleanse.Start with clean, dry skin.
- Apply the serum.Gently press 3–4 drops over your face and neck.
- Moisturise.Follow with your moisturiser. In the morning, finish with broad-spectrum sunscreen.
Introduce one new product at a time and patch test before wider use. Start once daily or every other day, then adjust to your skin’s tolerance. Copper peptide skincare does not replace sun protection.

A few fair questions.
Are GHK-Cu and copper peptides the same thing?
GHK-Cu is a particular copper peptide. “Copper peptides” is the broader description; Copper Tripeptide-1 is the ingredient name to look for on the label.
Why is Koppā’s serum blue?
The blue colour comes from the copper-peptide complex, not an added colourant. Colour alone is not a reliable way to compare the strength or effectiveness of different serums.
How quickly will I see a difference?
There is no fixed timeline for everyone. Changes in how hydrated skin feels may be easier to notice than changes in visible firmness or fine lines. Use the formula consistently as directed and assess your skin over time. Published ingredient research is not a clinical trial of Koppā’s finished serum.
Can I use it with the skincare I already own?
Check the directions for each formula and introduce new products gradually, especially if your routine already includes retinoids or exfoliating acids. If you prefer to separate a pure L-ascorbic acid vitamin C serum, use that in the morning and Koppā’s serum in the evening.
Do I need the whole Koppā routine?
No. You can start with one product and keep the cleanser, moisturiser and sunscreen that already suit your skin.
