Why we include GHK-Cu

In lab studies, GHK-Cu increased collagen production in skin cells. Collagen helps keep skin firm.

Why the balm base matters

A small study of topical oils, including jojoba, found modest effects on limiting moisture loss. It did not test this balm.

What this means for your balm

This is research on individual ingredients. It does not tell us how long the finished balm keeps skin hydrated or how it delivers GHK-Cu.

GHK-Cu — laboratory evidence. Maquart et al., 1988 — FEBS Letters. This cell-culture study provides ingredient context, not proof of this balm’s effect on collagen in users.

Topical oils — short-term human evidence. Stamatas et al., 2008 — Journal of Dermatological Science. Oils including jojoba were studied using skin measurements at 30 and 90 minutes; modest occlusive effects were observed. This study did not test Koppā’s balm or establish all-day hydration.
